Developing 150 MW of solar generation capacity in one of the world's fastest-growing energy markets. Government-backed PPA. Proven execution team. Extraordinary returns.
Helious is a U.S.-managed solar energy development company focused exclusively on utility-scale projects in Bangladesh and South Asia.
Our founder has operated in Bangladesh for over 14 years, building deep relationships across government, military, construction, banking, and logistics sectors. We are not entering a new market — we are deploying capital into a market we already know intimately.
We source Tier 1 solar equipment directly from Chinese manufacturers, engage proven local Bangladeshi EPC contractors, and secure long-term power purchase agreements with government or military entities.
If we build one, we can build as many as the market demands. And the market is demanding everything we can build.
170 million people. Power demand growing 7% annually. Only 5% of installed capacity is renewable. The country is overwhelmingly dependent on imported fossil fuels, creating massive exposure to price shocks and supply disruptions.
10-year corporate tax exemption. Maximum 5% import duty on solar equipment. VAT exemption on power generation. The government is actively courting foreign capital with streamlined approvals and fiscal incentives.
Bangladesh is starving for renewable energy. Solar is now the cheapest source of new electricity in the country.BloombergNEF Energy Analysis, 2025
Positioned at $600–800/kW installed — consistent with current utility-scale solar pricing in Bangladesh and South Asia.
Richard has operated in Bangladesh since 2012, building and managing sourcing operations, manufacturing relationships, and logistics networks across the country. His relationships span government, military, construction, banking, and import/export sectors.
Based in the United States, Richard manages international supply chains, investor relations, and strategic partnerships. He will lead the Bangladesh site visit in June 2026 to finalize PPA terms, land agreements, and government approvals.
Helious is backed by an on-the-ground Bangladesh team with deep local expertise in construction, permitting, and government liaison, plus established relationships with Tier 1 Chinese solar manufacturers for direct procurement.
Contracted revenue stream backed by sovereign or military purchase agreement. Not speculative — contracted cash flows from day one.
Full capital recovery in under 5 years in all scenarios. 20-year total return of 3x–6x invested capital.
Bangladesh law provides full corporate tax exemption for renewable energy projects through 2030.
The first 150 MW proves the model. Bangladesh needs 750+ MW of new solar per year. Helious can become a multi-GW platform.
14+ years of operating experience in Bangladesh. Capital deployment into established infrastructure, not a first-time market entry.
